Start with the phone, then check the calling app

Use a supported Android phone with the current CallSync app installed from Google Play. Check the store listing on the actual phone for installation compatibility. iPhone, iPad and feature phones are not supported by this Android employee-app workflow.

Call-log syncing and recording support are separate. An Android phone may sync calls successfully even when its calling app cannot record them. Use the phone checker to understand the difference.

Three possible recording setups

Calling app / setupCall detailsRecordings
A calling app with working automatic recordingAutomatic sync after setupEnable automatic recording, grant folder/audio access in CallSync, then test attachment and upload.
A calling app with manual recording or sharingAutomatic sync after setupRecord the call in that app. In CallSync’s manual sharing mode, share the audio to CallSync and select the matching call if prompted.
A calling app without recording supportAutomatic sync after setupNo original audio is available to attach. Calls can still appear without recordings.

What about Samsung, Redmi, Vivo and other brands?

Samsung, Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO, Vivo / iQOO, OPPO, Realme, OnePlus, Pixel and Motorola phones may have different calling apps across their models. Use the Android version and the actual calling app to assess support.

If that phone’s calling app has working automatic recording, use the recording-folder setup. If it offers only manual recording, check manual sharing. If it has no recording option, CallSync can still sync eligible call details without audio.

Find out which calling app is installed

  1. On Android, open Settings → Apps → Default apps → Phone app. The wording can vary by device.
  2. Open that calling app’s settings and look for Call recording or Auto call recording. If it offers only a Record button during a call, test manual recording.
  3. In CallSync, open Settings → Business sync settings → Recordings. Check whether it uses a recording folder or manual sharing.
  4. Make a connected test call. Verify the call in the dashboard, then verify that its uploaded audio actually plays.

Dual SIM and internet calls

  • Dual-SIM phones can track a selected work SIM. Check Call tracking in the phone’s Business sync settings.
  • A second work Android phone is an option for an employee who normally uses an iPhone.
  • WhatsApp, Meet and other internet calls are not included in this SIM call-tracking workflow.
